How to design a cake in 3D in your browser (no software to install)
A customer asks for "a cake like the one on Pinterest, but in our colours". A 3D preview lets you show the exact result before you buy a single bag of sugar. Here is the quick way to do it in 3D Studio, in your browser, on a computer, tablet or phone.
1. Choose the shape and the tiers
On the left panel pick the Shape (round, square, heart, hexagon, star…) and the number of Tiers, from 1 to 5. Use Tier height for a low tart or a tall modern cake, and Size drop to decide how much smaller each tier is.
2. Pick the colour and the surface
Choose the cake colour, then the surface: fondant, buttercream, velvet, satin, mirror glaze, glitter, pearl shimmer or a metal finish. Press All to change every tier at once, or 1, 2, 3… to change only one tier (1 is the bottom).
3. Decorate
- Sugar flowers: pick a rose, peony, magnolia or orchid, then click on the cake where you want it.
- Borders: pearls, shells, ropes, ruffles, drapes, gold lace and more, on the top or bottom edge.
- Age, numbers and words: type "Happy Birthday" or tap the gold keys for an age, then drag it where you want it.
4. Show it to your customer
Press Picture to get a still image from any angle (even with a transparent background), or 360° Video for a short clip that turns around the cake. Both are made in the browser; your design is not uploaded anywhere.
Tip: not sure where to start? Open the ready-made models page, click a design you like and change the colours, flowers and names for your customer.
The trial is free and opens every tool. It includes one free picture or video with the 3D Studio logo; PRO removes the logo and lets you download pictures, videos and 3D models.
